Caresite Pharmacy
Caresite Pharmacy
The Company is a clinical and specialty pharmacy provider headquartered in the Northeastern United States. It operates 9 clinical retail pharmacies and a centralized specialty pharmacy business. The clinical pharmacies are co-located in or adjacent to physician practices in clinics and medical office buildings in the Northeastern United States.
The specialty pharmacy business focuses on the distribution and related services of high-cost, complex injectable medications to patients at home via mail-order. As a result of the co-location model and high-touch, clinical and consultative service, the Company serves as an extension of the physician’s practice, essentially allowing prescriptions to be dispensed at the point of care and providing a powerful tool to attract patients not only for the initial prescription filling, but to serve them for additional products and services. In January 2009 EDG exited the business via a sale to a strategic partner at 1.1 x the original investment. Over the investment period, EDG worked with mangement to build the company, growing from $16 million in revenue to $30 million in revenue, divesting several lines of business and strengthening the organization’s infrastructure.
